**Die Labelexpo Europe feierte 2017 mit einer Präsenz in 9 Hallen (12 % mehr als 2015 und 37.742 Besuchern (Steigerung von 5,6 %) seine bis dato größte Ausgabe der Labelexpo Europe. Apex International zeigt alle wesentlichen Trends, die im Mittelpunkt der Messe standen, und hieß das internationale Publikum auf seinem Stand in Halle 11 – unmittelbar neben der Automation-Arena der Messe, willkommen.**
Da Etiketten weiterhin im Mittelpunkt der Labelexpo in 2017 stehen, betonten die Organisatoren der Messe, dass der Ausstellungsbereich auch die weitere Segmentierung in Richtung flexibler Verpackungsdrucke widerspiegelte. Während die Tintenstrahltechnologie bei der diesjährigen Messe einen regelrechten Durchbruch verzeichnete, wurden auch die neuesten Hybridtechnologien der großen Druckmaschinenherstellern vorgestellt.
Weiterhin gibt es zahlreiche neue Entwicklungen herkömmlicher Flexodruckmaschinen mit verbesserter Automation der Verpackungsdrucke, sowie höhere Effizienz bei Kleinseriendruck.
Die „Automation-Arena“ wurde erstmalig eingeführt, um neueste automatisierte Etiketten- und Verpackungsdrucktechnologien ins Rampenlicht zu stellen: „Da die Industrie 4.0 auch für Etikettendrucker Realität wird, wurde diese Arena eingerichtet, um den vollständigen automatisierten Arbeitsablauf zu zeigen – von der Auftragserstellung über die Druckvorstufe bis hin zur Endverarbeitung und Kundenabrechnung.“
**Clevere Lösungen von Apex ermöglichen neue Innovationen**
Apex International ist in der Branche für seine Innovationskraft in der Flexoindustrie bekannt. Die Labelexpo stellte die perfekte Plattform bereit, um einem globalen Publikum zu zeigen, wie Apex die wichtigsten Trends in der Branche thematisiert.
- ***Neue Maßstäbe in der Automation: Smart Anilox***
Die Einführung einer mit einem [RFID-Chip](https://blog.apexinternational.com/apex-anilox-news/smartanilox) ausgestatteten Rasterwalze wird es den Kunden von Apex ermöglichen, neue Maßstäbe in puncto Automation und Prozesssteuerung zu setzen. Remco Snik, F&E-Manager von Apex International, erklärte: „*[Smart Anilox](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9QGA_XS1og) *ist in der Lage, Statusinformationen automatisch mit intelligenten Systemen zu teilen. Die Daten von *Smart Anilox* werden in das MIS integriert. Dadurch wird die Erstellung von Aufträgen an unterschiedlichen Pressen vereinfacht und die Einrichtezeit verkürzt. Das System ist außerdem in der Lage, ein Feedback abzugeben, das rechtzeitig präventive Wartungsarbeiten an den Rasterwalzen ermöglicht.“
„Durch die Zusammenarbeit mit dem Druckmaschinenhersteller MPS, (bereits seit über 20 Jahren Technologiepartner), und dessen bahnbrechender „[*Talk to Me*](https://blog.apexinternational.com/apex-anilox-news/smartanilox)-Verbindungstechnologie“, erweitert Apex sein Angebot für die Flexodrucker, zur nochmaligen Steigerung der Effizienz und Produktivität.“
- ***UV-Farben: Chancen für die Verpackung***
Die Labelexpo bereitete den Weg für die neue Industrieinitiative *FoodSafeUV*, um die Sicherheit von UV-Farben und -lacken bei Verpackungen mit indirektem Lebensmittelkontakt zu fördern. Laut der Apex Gruppe „eröffnet die UV-Technologie neue Möglichkeiten für Kleinserienverpackungsdruck mit den zusätzlichen Vorteilen einer integrierten UV-Veredelungstechnologie sowie einem umweltfreundlicheren und nachhaltigeren Ergebnis“.
Neben vielfältigen Möglichkeiten und Vorteilen zur Veredelung bringen UV-Farben durch ihre hohe Viskosität jedoch auch Probleme wie das Farbspritzen mit sich. Durch den Einsatz der patentierten Rasterwalzengeometrie *GTT (Open Slalom Ink Channel)* bietet Apex eine einzigartige [Lösung](https://blog.apexinternational.com/apex-anilox-news-de/st-luc_l%C3%B6st_probleme_mit_zum_spritzen_neigender_uv-farbe)für dieses Problem.
- ***Bellissima: Qualität und Effizienz im Flexodruck***
Apex seit jeher eine starker Befürworter und Unterstützer des „Fixed-Palette“ druckens. Als Mitglied des [REVO Projekts](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9iJmTgPy-w&t=2s) zur Unterstützung des Ziels, den Flexodruckprozess von der Vorstufe bis hin zur Lieferung „digital“ zu standardisieren/automatisieren, wurde dies auf dem Stand von Bobst auf der Labelexpo präsentiert.
Um sein Engagement in diesem Bereich zu intensivieren, nutzte Apex die Labelexpo, um die Gründung von Aniken Graphics International bekannt zu geben. Es ist ein Joint Venture mit dem Druckvorstufenexperten Hamillroad Software UK, um den *Digital Modulierten Raster namens Bellissima DMS* den Entscheidern und Anwendern im Flexodruck vorzustellen. Nick Harvey, neuer Geschäftsführer von Aniken, verdeutlichte die Bedeutung dieser Partnerschaft: „*Bellissima* DMS wurde unter Anwendung von GTT-Rasterwalzen entwickelt und abgestimmt. Unsere Kunden erzielen nicht nur Druckergebnisse mit konstant hoher Qualität, die weit über jene von Tief- und Offsetdrucken hinausgeht, sondern auch nur einen Bruchteil der Kosten generiert. Dadurch wird es Flexodruckern ermöglicht, erhebliche Wettbewerbsvorteile bei Kleinserien zu erlangen.“
