Video: Apex Color Strength - Cyan Video

Welcome to our deep dive into the mysteries surrounding "Ink Color Density" in Flexo printing! In this video, we present the “Cyan Density” project by Apex International—a comprehensive venture aimed at dispelling common myths about color in Flexo printing and demonstrating how to standardize your printing processes.

We explore the intricate relationship between Anilox Volume (BCM) and Print Density or Color Strength on the press. The key question we address is: Does an Anilox BCM truly equal a specific Print Density on the press?

Our findings show that it's not as simple as matching a BCM value to a specific print density. Numerous variables, such as machine characteristics, plate and substrate types, ink formulation, and press speeds, all play a crucial role in ink transfer. In this video, we break down these complexities and provide clarity on how to properly evaluate and optimize your Flexo printing setup.

We also showcase Apex's cutting-edge GTT (Genetic Transfer Technology) and its ability to deliver consistent and controlled ink transfer. GTT stands out by improving dot printing stability, reducing ink aeration, and offering low-maintenance engraving with 21 specifications ranging from 1.3 BCM to 26 BCM.

Key highlights include:

  • Understanding the interaction between LPI and BCM
  • The importance of accurate BCM measurement tools (Micro Dynamics Veritas device and Apex calibration plate)
  • Why GTT engravings outperform traditional cell-based engravings in terms of consistency and cleaning efficiency

Join us as we unravel these key insights, helping you make informed decisions about Anilox rolls and unlocking new levels of consistency and quality in your Flexo printing process.
