By Doug Jones ![](https://blog.apexinternational.com/hubfs/GTT%20Wavy%20Ink%20Screen%20(yellow).jpg)   ![GTT Wavy Ink Screen (yellow).jpg](https://blog.apexinternational.com/hs-fs/hubfs/GTT%20Wavy%20Ink%20Screen%20(yellow).jpg?width=235&name=GTT%20Wavy%20Ink%20Screen%20(yellow).jpg "GTT Wavy Ink Screen (yellow).jpg")To fully appreciate the differences between conventional anilox and GTT anilox surfaces, consider these three breakthrough features available only with GTT: - **Geometry** GTT's patented Open Slalom ink channel geometry replaces closed-cell geometry which traps ink and instead employs the efficiency of hydraulic kinetics - freeing your ink to flow unobstructed and allowing in to transfer evenly to the plate. - **Composition** Our superhard hybrid ceramic layer features the highest density and lowest porosity in the industry for incredible ink release to plate.  This is in addition to superior longevity, score resistance and easier cleaning. - **Engraving** Our ConstantBeam™ laser engraving process replaces conventional pulse engraving beams, greatly reducing uneven ceramic roughness and recast.  Smooth, head and precise channel walls emerge which serve to release ink better and extend cylinder life. ![Doug Jones](https://blog.apexinternational.com/hubfs/BW_HS.jpg) #### Doug Jones Doug Jones is Vice President of Global Marketing at Apex International, the world’s largest manufacturer of anilox and meter products with 7 locations on 4 continents and sales offices covering over 80 countries.
